Look Who's 2!

Happy Birthday Catherine!

the smartest, cutest, sweetest 2 year old I know....

here are some of the things Catherine can do now:

• says "bless you" when you sneeze
• sings the abc song through g, then just stops
• sings ring around the rosie, but only says "ashes, ashes we all fall down" and then sits down
• LOVES to read to herself, be read to and read to Presley
• pulls off her socks and shoes in the car to play with her toes and clap her feet
• is a runner-loves to run away from me in open spaces, run around the house, I guess its what I did when I was a toddler
• loves to color and "write", she asks us to "write Presley, write Mama, write Dada"
• beginning to recognize her basic shapes, we got circle down for sure
• learning her colors
• if she sees a bus, she'll tell you if its a "city bus" or "school bus"
• calls me mama, mommy and mom at different times
• sometimes talks in her sleep, a couple nights ago she was dreaming and said "popcorn" about 6 times very loudly and clearly (we had just been to the pumpkin farm and she ate kettle corn)
• when you ask her how old she will be on her birthday, she holds up her 2 pointer fingers and says 2
• loves to pretend play, often getting the blanket, diaper and wipes out to change her baby's diaper or feed us pretend food
• eats with a fork, with both hands, some preference to the right
• is still so skinny, drinks whole milk and mom can't wait to see she's finally past 20 pounds at her 2 year check up next week!
• loves older kids, went right up to a 7 year old girl (total stranger) the other day and wanted to hold her hand
• loves dogs, Presley being her best friend, but loves seeing small dogs and asks to pet them
• loves cats and has to learn to be more gentle with them than she is with Presley!
• calls my mom Nana and Ryan's mom grandma, but when you ask her to say "oh Grandma" it comes out as "Obama"!
• when someone is being silly or laughing a lot, she starts laughing and says "silly _____ (their name)" and slaps her knee
• takes a nap everyday, on a good day, 2-3 hours
• doesn't use her high chair anymore and barely her booster seat, wants to be a big girl!
• loves to have jobs, like bringing Presley his treat or helping to unload the dishwasher
• loves all her friends and giving them hugs
• will imitate what you say, but you never know when she'll do it, so you have to be careful what you say!
• starts dancing and running around when Daddy comes home from work
• knows mommy works at school some days and sometimes says "mommy's school-yeah!"
• still loves to cuddle with mama and rock in the rocking chair, thank goodness!
