Christmas 2010

Where to begin? This Christmas is a little bit of a blur. New Years is just around the corner, or so people are telling me!

Claire caught her second cold this month just before the big day. I should've known something was wrong on the 23rd when she had 2 wonderful naps, each almost 2 hours, which is not normal for my usual 45 minute napper! The night of the 23rd both Ryan and I were up with her, she was congested and not feeling well. Christmas eve she barely got a break from up wiping her very runny nose. She wasn't as happy as she usually is and wanted to be held more often. Then came the night of Christmas eve. Sleep was the smallest amount I've gotten since the night/morning when Catherine came into the world in 2007! Claire didn't get much more so Christmas day she was no smiles, didn't nurse all day, took short as in 20 minute naps, was just exhausted. One of those days when I wanted to pull the covers back over and not come out until Groundhog Day! Day after Christmas we took her to the dr just to make sure there was no infection of any kind. She was clear on that front and took at 3 1/2 hour nap in her car seat that day- can you tell she was tired or what?

The past week really has been a blur, but Claire is getting back to her happy self, still needing more TLC than usual and slowly sleeping better at night. Cold and now little cough are still lingering but hopefully will clear up soon.

Not the holiday season our family was looking forward to, especially sad to cancel plans with friends here from out of town and friends we needed to catch up with.
Catherine was a trooper and the presents were a great distraction! She got new movies, a great cash register with basket, apron and play food, books, blankets and more. She was a little disappointed to hear that Jesus' birthday was over and the presents were too! For a few days she kept saying she would like another present to open!
